Our Collaborative Sea Week Poems:
The Sea
The sea is crashing on the rocks making loud noises.
The sea tastes extremely salty.
The sea is full of dolphins in the water.
The sea is full of salty water.
The sea is full of fish sparkling in the ocean.
The sea is full of fish sparkling in the ocean.
The sea smells like salt sinking to the bottom of the sea.
The sea sounds like dolphins splashing in the water.

Kimiora, Kale, Abby and Cameron

The Sea is Graceful
The sea is yellow and purple.
The sea is blue and sparkles like the sun.
The sea is full of dolphins splashing in the sun.
The sea is full of volcanic rocks.
The sea sparkles in the boiling sun as bright as the yellow book bag.

Paige, Sarah, Amber, Dimi, Tessa

In The Deep Blue Sea
The sea is full of lots of living creatures and anemones.
The sea is full of sand and shells.
The sea looks like salt sparkling.
The sea salt tastes like salt.
The sea is good for swimming and playing with rubber ducks.
The sea tastes like disgusting salt that sparkles in the moonlight.
The sea has stupendous sharks that can swim miles and miles.
The sea feels cold while swimming in the sparkling water.
The sea is full of ducks that enjoy the salty water.

Caitlin, Max, Zachary, Jayden and Janessa

The Sea
The sea is a place full of animals
The sea is beautiful in the sun as it goes down.
The sea is made of salty water if you drink it, you will die.
The sea is full of salt when the sand mixes together.
The sea sounds like crashing waves at night.
The sea is like twinkling stars in the sunlight.
The sea is like twilight at dawn.

Nikita, Chloe, Ethan, Nick

The Sea
The sea looks like it’s swirling in the harbour.
The sea sounds like it’s constantly crashing against the rocks at night.
The sea looks like sparkling diamonds when the sun hits it.
The sea sounds like rocks crashing .
The sea is very salty.
The sea is sparkling like diamonds.

Teagan, Kohl, Madison, Nathan

The Sea
The sea is full of sparkling dolphins.
The sea is full of whales splashing in the sea.
The sea is dark blue.

Word of the Week:
collaborative

What does this mean? What what this look like? Here are a few of us working collaboratively.

This week is Sea Week. Today we watched a Live Cam from the Royal Albatross Colony at Taiaroa Head - near Dunedin - click here

Word of the Week:
resilience

Great fun at swimming this week. What incredible RESILIENCE we showed! So many children learned something new and it was great to see everyone having a go!  Here we are having our first floating competition!

What does resilience mean to you? How did you show resilience this week? Write a comment below....

Some of our Resilient stories:
We watched a video about a baby piper. He lived near a beach who showed resilient. His mother walked to the beach to find some food. Lts baby thought his mother would not return but she didn’t come back.
Cameron

I watched a video about resilience and felt happy for Piper and felt sad for him when he got washed up by the waves. I remember when I caught my first fish. A few hours before that I couldn’t catch a fish. I kept on trying and trying. First the movie the little bird kept on moving under its mum and next the mum went on the beach to find oysters. Then the little bird opened its beak but nothing happened. The the mum called him to the beach to get an oyster to eat. After that he somersaulted down the hill and ran onto the beach to find an oyster to eat. A second later a humongous wave collapsed onto him. He raced up the hill, his mother flew to the top of the hill and dried him off.  Then flew back down. His tummy grumbled then he crawled like a ninja and hid behind things. Next he saw another wave and his sprinted behind some seaweed. After that he somehow moved on top of the sand.  Some crabs crawled out and one pinched him on the beck. He followed them. He saw another wave, the crabs buried themselves in the sand the little bird buried himself too. Then he opened his eyes and saw lots of oysters and helped the group.

Nathan

We watched a clip about a fluffy little chick who learnt something brand new. Can you guess what the fluffy chick showed? I felt sad for the poor little thing when it was washed away. I remember when I once tried to ride my big bike. The wind blew me off my bike. The fluffy chick zoomed back to the warm nest. It’s mother tried to make her cute child to try again. After a long time the chick was starving and it bolted back to the crystal clear water.

Eden

We watched an epic movie about a little bird who showed resilience and tried and tried again.I felt sad for the little bird that he got washed away. I have some resilience when I started writing four sentences in my writing book.
Harrison

We watched a video about a little bird showing resilience i felt sorry for him because he’s only a baby. Then after he ran as fast as he could to the sea and  learned his lesson. I remember when I showed resilience when I tried to bike but it turned out I could do it.
Tessa

We watched a bird named Piper showing resilience.I felt sad when Piper got washed up at the beach. After that he was standing on two crabs that walked up to him. A wave was coming and Piper saw the crabs digging in the ground and he tried it and he saw oysters!.
Nikita

Our 'Best Part' stories.
A sneaky peek of some of our stories. Come in and check them out!
The best part of me is my big beautiful blue eyes because if I didn’t have them I wouldn’t be able to see my food and my mum and dad and family. It is very good to have eyes because you can see everything.
Erin

The best part of me is my mouth because I can eat with it. I like my mouth because I can talk with it. Without it I would be silent. I like my mouth because I can make silly and funny noises. I like my mouth because I sing with it too. Kimiora-Dior

The best part of me is my stupendous legs, they can make my run super fast and I can also ride my bike. I can jump higher than the net! My legs can make me do really awesome flips like knee flips and I can scratch my head with my feet! Max

The best part of me is my feet. I like them so I can walk or run all over the place. If my brain wanted my feet to walk me to the chippie shop and my feet didn’t want to go there they might walk me to the ipad, xbox or the neighbours or I can stay still. Nick

The best part of me is my spine. If I didn’t have one I would not be able to walk. I also like my tongue. If I didn’t have a tongue I would not be able to talk. The strongest bone is my tongue. I love my tongue because it is my favourite colour. Paige

The best part of me is my is my hands because I can hold my baby sister and that I can push the pram. I also can hold my mum’s hand. Teagan
